Southwell and District Local History Society



Formed in 1983 the Society's objectives are to encourage the study of the History of Southwell and its area through:

Talks and lectures. Our indoor meetings are held on the 4th Wednesday in the months September to May inclusive, starting at 7.30pm in the Library. Guests welcome at a charge of £3. (Membership is £15 pa).

Visits to places of historical interest both within and outside the area.

Encouraging research into local history and the publication of relevant material. The Society has published a number of books, most recently: Southwell at War 1914-1919 and Southwell at War 1939-45, Vol. 1 'Keep Smiling Through'.

New members are welcome.
