Business owners are invited to free workshops during May and June to learn about the importance of fire safety for their businesses.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) will be hosting the workshops at Newark Fire Station on Thursday 14 May and Wednesday 20 May, 10:00am-11:30am and Wednesday 3 June, 2:00pm-3:30pm.

Participants will learn what their responsibilities and duties are under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order and will be taught how to complete a Fire Risk Assessment.

Paul Cooper, the Business Education Advocate for NFRS said: "Many employers across the county still do not fully understand their responsibilities and the consequences of their actions when it comes to fire safety. The workshops will enable business owners to understand what is required and to essentially reduce the risk of fire to keep their businesses in business."

The workshops are limited to10 people; places are based on a 'first come first served' basis.
