ANOTHER dimension was added to the existing association between Southwell and its twin town, Sees in France, when a group of 36 pupils from the Minster School set off on April 3rd to spend twelve days with their pen friends' families.

1st Southwell Girl's Brigade, 10th birthday celebrations, The cake was cut by Katharine Parry and Karen Dearden, the first two girls in the Company.

CONTINUING their support for local youth, a new match football was presented to Southwell Boys Brigade by Southwell & District Lions President, Peter Todd at a recent home match. The team, which is undefeated so far this season is pictured with Peter Todd.

MANY PEOPLE in Southwell were grieved to hear of the death of Miss Doris Dowse on 27th August. Her death brought to an end an era of the town's history which began in July 1884.

SOUTHWELL Town Crier Henry Howard was presented with a new bicycle by John Matthews, Community Service Committee chairman, Southwell & District Lions in early August, to replace his ageing machine, and in recognition of Henry's support in Lions fund raising events.
