GB Ladies hockey team weren't the only winners this summer. After Southwell Brincliffe United's 1st team won the Notts Premier Division and league cup last season, it was the turn of SBU's 2nd /3rd team players to bring home the silverware, when they were crowned winners of the Rushcliffe six-a-side summer league tournament.

It's been another enjoyable season for Southwell City Romans U11s. For the second year running they finished in a trophy position in the league. This time they finished runners up in a very competitive YEL Spring League campaign, finishing off in style with an 8-1 victory over East Leake.

Following a convincing win against John Blow Primary School in the semi-final of the League Cup, there is now just one game left in what has been a sensational season for Lowe's Wong.

Following his retirement from professional rugby at Nottingham Rugby Club in order to take up a new full time position in the financial services industry, Dan Montagu, who has been head coach at Southwell for the past three years, is taking on a new role as Director of Rugby for the upcoming season.

Bleasby C of E primary school hockey team has just finished the season on a high winning the 'Sam White Schools Tournament' hosted by Newark hockey club at the Magnus School.
This comes on the back of representing Nottinghamshire in the U11 boys Midlands regional finals in Cannock, where this little primary school, which has just 157 pupils, held its own against some of the biggest private schools in the region.
