On 4th October Penny Durance, Julie Stafford, Helen Jones and Barbara Garrett ran in the first women only marathon, the Race for Life Marathon in the River Lea Country Park. Participants were encouraged to wear pink and to have note on their back to celebrate and remember loved ones who had fought cancer. You can only imaging the emotions that others feel when they read these personal stories. Penny's daughter Helen ran the race and knocked 15 minutes off her PB.
