GB Ladies hockey team weren't the only winners this summer. After Southwell Brincliffe United's 1st team won the Notts Premier Division and league cup last season, it was the turn of SBU's 2nd /3rd team players to bring home the silverware, when they were crowned winners of the Rushcliffe six-a-side summer league tournament.

Local Paralympian Champion Richard Whitehead returned home from Rio with a Gold and Silver medal after successfully defending his Paralympic title, storming to gold in the T42 200m and achieving the seemingly impossible by winning a joint Silver in the T42 100m final.

It's been another enjoyable season for Southwell City Romans U11s. For the second year running they finished in a trophy position in the league. This time they finished runners up in a very competitive YEL Spring League campaign, finishing off in style with an 8-1 victory over East Leake.
