The Government's recent commitment to double the number of UK custom and self-build homes, driven by the Right to Build and the new Housing and Planning Bill, is set to bolster the self-build market and the country's housing supply in 2016. In response, the National Homebuilding & Renovating Show is gearing up its forthcoming event with over 450 exhibitors, 16 free seminars and over 50 masterclasses. The show, taking place at the NEC, Birmingham, from 14-17 April 2016, and sponsored for the first time by Velux, will also be launching a mobile app and guided trails, enabling visitors to maximise their visit.

Newark's tourist information centre is set to move. The current centre at Keeper's Cottage on Great North Road will close its doors on 20 March 2016. Visitors looking for information will be able to find all the advice they require at the new Visitor Gateway. The Gateway will be opening at Easter and is part of the new development linking the Palace Theatre and National Civil War Centre on Appletongate.

CELEBRATING the best of Nottinghamshire, the two day county show is returning to Newark Showground on 14th and 15th May, for its 133rd year.

Amazing Fun Art Classes are now in their second year at Gosh gallery in Tuxford.

THIS year's Southwell Open Gardens is going to be the biggest one yet!
