LIVE MUSIC, treasure trails, extreme sports, interactive workshops and plenty of great British food will be on offer for families this May at Nottinghamshire County Show.
The much loved show returns for its 133rd year at Newark Showground on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th May and the organisers of the show are inviting families to pre-book tickets to the popular annual event and prepare for a fun-filled weekend.
2017 sees 30 years of Beaumond House hospice care in Newark. As part of the celebrations, the charity has launched its 30th anniversary trek. They are looking for 30 trekkers to raise a total of £30k. This will be an amazing six-day trek through the Sahara Desert in March 2017.
The Government's recent commitment to double the number of UK custom and self-build homes, driven by the Right to Build and the new Housing and Planning Bill, is set to bolster the self-build market and the country's housing supply in 2016. In response, the National Homebuilding & Renovating Show is gearing up its forthcoming event with over 450 exhibitors, 16 free seminars and over 50 masterclasses. The show, taking place at the NEC, Birmingham, from 14-17 April 2016, and sponsored for the first time by Velux, will also be launching a mobile app and guided trails, enabling visitors to maximise their visit.
A cycle ride, originally organised by the late Beryl Smith and her granddaughter; Tonya Hinds, has developed into one of the most exciting, uplifting, sporting events in the annual Southwell calendar.
Newark's tourist information centre is set to move. The current centre at Keeper's Cottage on Great North Road will close its doors on 20 March 2016. Visitors looking for information will be able to find all the advice they require at the new Visitor Gateway. The Gateway will be opening at Easter and is part of the new development linking the Palace Theatre and National Civil War Centre on Appletongate.
