Southwell Community First Responders

A non profit making group, whose aim is to provide a rota of Community First Responders who will attend certain potentially life threatening emergencies associated with cardiac/respiratory difficulties in Southwell, although some of our Responders are also now trained to attend young children and falls.

We work in conjunction with East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) who train and support us throughout. As Community First Responders we work with and alongside the Ambulance Service attending emergencies, treating the casualty until EMAS arrives. At present we are able to provide cover with EMAS from 8am to 10pm on a rota basis with each of our volunteers giving their availability to fit in with their life. Our volunteers work in pairs, although some are happy to attend alone.

No previous First Aid/Medical training is needed and there is no upper age limit.
