Explore the ground and all of its wriggling inhabitants in this quirky dance show for young children and families taking place at Thoresby Courtyard on Thursday 24th March.

The show gently takes the audience into the world beneath our feet featuring worms, slugs, snails, spontaneous outbreaks of ant dancing and plenty of obscure insect-related facts. Weaving together performance, puppetry and projection Grass is light-hearted and inquisitively performed by two dancers.

Performed on real turf with a back-drop of apple crates and a few surprises, Grass is a sensory show that invites the audience in to sit close to the action on astro-turf mats, deck-chairs and benches. Whilst breathing in the scent of freshly-cut grass there are plenty of points of gentle audience interaction including a version of 'insect charrades'.
Post performance the audience are invited to 'Stay & Play' with parts of the set which are filled with sand, soil, vegetables to dig and small insects to find. Grass aims to inspire audiences to look closely at the world around them, get moving, get mucky and play!

Grass has two performances on offer at 11am and 2pm, performances are 35-40 mins long and suitable for ages 3+. Tickets are on sale from the box office on 01623 822009 at £7 per child with a free accompanying adult, additional adults £5 each.
