In any other year, Southwell Cricket Club would be well into the season by now. Friday night junior coaching, weekend senior games, kwick cricket tournaments, net sessions, social events and weekday junior games usually keeps Top Ground a hub of activity throughout the summer. However, due to Covid-19, ECB guidance currently only allows for small net sessions – though some would argue that these are much needed!

This time of year is normally one of celebration for our football club. The end-of-season presentation day in May is quickly followed by our tournament weekend at the beginning of June. It's a time when players, their coaches, families and friends enjoy the simple pleasure of sport and of being part of our local community.

The new season starts with the opening of Farnsfield Bowling Club's green on Saturday 18th April at 2pm.

Notts County Sailing Club, based at a lake near Hoveringham won RYA (Royal Yachting Association) Club of the Year in 2018 and is an active and friendly sailing club.

Off the back of a rather laboured display in their win against Moderns, Southwell Rugby Club's first team had the opportunity to further impose their mark in the league, against a physical Mellish side. An opportunity that was well and truly taken.
