Southwell City FC Under 12 Girls have a new shirt sponsor for season 2018-19 thanks to the generosity of one of the player's parents, Richard Harris of Chem Dry Central. The age group now has two teams, named the Cavaliers and the Roundheads to reflect the history of the civil war in Southwell.

Bleasby Primary School began its bid for the Tag Rugby County Championship when it entered two teams into the Minster and Joseph Whittaker school cluster competition and was delighted to finish in first and second place.

The new season at Southwell Junior Badminton Club began in early September. The club, which has been meeting at Southwell Leisure Centre on Saturday mornings for nearly 30 years, has places available for young, sporty kids at most age groups who would like to try the sport and receive coaching from our National Level 2 qualified coaching team.

Last year Southwell Cricket Club successfully renewed its ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board) Clubmark accreditation status which included ECB approval to implement a new five-year development plan. The Club has now gone on to pass the ECB annual health check by demonstrating that significant progress has been made in implementing the plan.

For the second time this year Sherwood Archers hosted a major tournament for The English Archery Federation. This time it was for the Euro-Nations and Commonwealth European Championships.
