A young black cat rescued by a local animal charity is promoting the rewards of adopting overlooked but fantastic felines ... and for good reason as it is commonly known that there are more black cats needing homes than any other colour.

Freya, taken in by Animal Accident Rescue Unit, is around just three years old – and recently became a proud puss-Mum to four healthy kittens. Content to be a lap-cat, she would suit a mostly indoor-life - as her fosterer confirms: 'Freya is so affectionate – all she wants is food and cuddles!'

As with all the other equally loving but overlooked felines needing permanent homes, Freya is neutered, micro-chipped, flea and worm treated, litter-trained plus FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) tested for which she tested negative.
