Celebrations for the centenary of the Diocese of Southwell reached their height last month with a Festival of Flowers, Music & Drama in the Minster.

More than 9,000 people attended the tremendously successful flower festival over the five days it was held in Southwell Minster. 'Pilgrimage in Flowers' showed over 100 arrangements by members of the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies from Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and South Humberside.

Two donations of £1,000 each have already been made from the proceeds to the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children and to 'Room at the Inn', the Southwell Diocese Centenary Project for Nottinghamshire's Homeless. It is hoped it will also be possible to mark the Centenary Year with a permanent moment.
